The first high school dance is always special. Getting a great dress, the perfect shoes, hair done at the salon, and great makeup. What else could a 16 year old ask for?

I absolutely loved this part of my recent vacation. I learned quite a bit and saw these amazing creatures much closer than I ever had thought I could!

Lovely Day for a photo shoot~

I picked the girls up one day with my camera in the car and asked if they would like to go to a nearby park and let me take some pictures. I'm so glad they agreed. I think next time I will bring some props or change of clothes and accessories to have more fun. I should also remember to take my phone along because I've saved so many ideas that would be fun to try. I love having models willing to play with the camera :)

Hey Blue Eyes~

Found this almost 2 year old photo while looking for something to edit. Cleaned it up a little and sharpened it slightly before playing with the colors and getting her eye to stand out. So cool!

Tulip in a mason jar

Going through some old photo's to play with the editing and I came across this tulip. I took a couple of different angles, so I edited each one differently. I like the way this one turned out, because the blurred background still has color but there is nothing actually going on besides the tulip itself. I like how the petal in the back begins to become translucent through the editing. I remember when I took the picture I was playing with depth of field, but not creating a focus, so if I could take it again I would make a focal point more obvious.
